Citrus College Visual & Performing Arts Department offers a variety of instrumental and vocal groups customized for your event. These performance opportunities prepare our students for the transition into the entertainment industry – meanwhile, they offer you, the client, the finest quality entertainment at an exceptionally affordable price.

NIGHT SHIFT

  • PURE ENERGY!

    This high-energy group performs the best music of classic rockers, R&B and contemporary artists. Night Shift annually performs in excess of 100 engagements for private and corporate parties as well as country club events and a summer tour in the Hawaiian Islands. Songs include hits such as: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Superstition, Midnight Hour, Shut Up and Dance, Lady Marmalade and Cake by the Ocean. From Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson to Bruno Mars and Walk the Moon, the band's set list will keep your guests on the dance floor all night long. Regardless of the venue, Night Shift's professionalism and exceptional performances will inspire and delight audiences of all ages.

The Blue Note Orchestra

  • THAT BIG BAND SOUND!

    This highly professional, critically acclaimed ensemble has been invited to play at the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world, including the celebrated Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the North Seas Jazz Festival in Holland, the Luxembourg Jazz Festival and The Hawaiian International Jazz Festival. Our professional clients include the who's who of Southern California's society and entertainment elite. Our performing groups routinely produce special presentation packages for the Beverly Hilton hotel, The Ritz Carlton Huntington, The Langham in Pasadena, The National association of Home builders, National Hotrod Association, city of Glendale, DreamWorks, Wailea Marriott Maui and the Hyatt Regency Maui to name just a few.

    Our ensembles have also had the privilege to perform and tour with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Sandy Duncan, Bob Newhart, Gwen Stefani, Melissa Manchester and Dale Kristien who starred opposite Michael Crawford in over 1700 performances of "Phantom of the Opera". Known for its ability to masterfully recreate traditional and contemporary big band styling's the Blue Note Orchestra's professional and entertaining performances prove to inspire and delight audiences of all ages.

THE CASTAWAYS

  • SWANKY, SMOOTH JAZZ!

    This subtle jazz quintet plays polite, swanky, acoustic jazz music that will add warmth and elegance to any event. The Castaways are best known for their ability to play in diverse settings. The group performs throughout California and the Hawaiian Islands for charity events, weddings, country clubs and exclusive Hollywood parties. The Castaways will add a touch of class to your function and will provide ambiance and warmth to your event. Audiences are charmed by the refinement of the music and the classic flair of this group.

THE CITRUS SINGERS

  • AWE INSPIRING!

    This prestigious forty-member troupe has opened the Rose parade, appeared at Super Bowl XII, and provided entertainment at some of Hawaii’s finest resorts including the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Sheraton Waikiki. They have performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, sung with Melissa Manchester, entertained past presidents and foreign dignitaries and appeared in classical choral festivals and concerts throughout much of the world including Germany, the Czech Republic, China, Scandinavia, Japan, Russia, South America, Italy, France, Austria, Spain and Great Britain, The Citrus Singers have the distinction of being the only American choir to win the International Choral Festival in Spittal, Austria

  • SING, SING, SING!

    Annually, the Women’s Ensemble performs in two titled shows, Christmas Is…(Fall) and their Pop Show (Spring). In December the group will embark on an extensive caroling schedule at prestigious venues throughout Southern California. This year’s Pop Show will be nothing less than fabulous as the ladies present The Song is You. Each year we rotate the repertoire between songs from Broadway musicals to those sung by your favorite artists on the radio. This production will showcase our versatile vocal style and mix it up with show stopping choreography!

    In May, we have the privilege of performing on an annual performance tour. The Women’s Ensemble has traveled to places such as: San Diego, Palm Springs, the Mexican Riviera, and the Bahamas.

    Ensemble members build relationships and make memories that last a lifetime. These young performers shine through their vibrant performances. A Women’s Ensemble production will make a great addition to your event.

STAGE & LIGHTING

  • PUTTING ON A SHOW!

    The Emerging Theatre Technologies program is able to offer staging and lighting rentals for your big event! The students have on site, first-hand experience with setting up and running custom lighting trusses for all types of events. Students are trained to provide technology used in large venues such as Staples Center, the Pantages Theatre, and the Honda Center, and are able to recreate that “big concert” feel at your venue.
