  • No matter your career path, Theatre Arts classes will help you achieve your career goals for it teaches you discipline, commitment and responsibility.

    The Citrus College Theatre Arts Department offers a creative learning program aimed at developing acting, directing and technical skills necessary for transfer to a four-year university or to a professional training school. Classes for personal enrichment are also available.


    The Theatre Arts Department’s emphasis is in acting, directing, and technical theater. You will receive training in character development, rehearsal technique, monologue and scene study, audition preparation, voice and movement, stage direction, script analysis and technical theatre. The Citrus College Little Theatre offers an intimate venue for developing and practicing your skills before live audiences.


    The Theatre Arts Department produces two full-length main stage productions a year, one full-length student directed/designed production as well as a holiday show, Shakespeare in Production and the popular Citrus Theatre Academy in the summer. Citrus Theatre has a strong involvement with the American College Theatre Festival with several students having competed for the Irene Ryan Acting Award. Citrus has also presented selected scenes for the Invitational Scene Event. Our 2005 production of “La Lista Negra” traveled to the Regional festival in Cedar City, UT as a participating production. It was honored as fifth in the nation out of hundreds of productions seen that year.
